2 Autotracking Antennas with Full Network

Summary

Challenge: Major Oil and Gas provider engaged to install 2 autotracking antennas and build up the entire network on board a Rig with minimal downtime and outages
Outcome: 2 teams focused on 2 separate scopes. One team on the building and set up of the antennas and the second focused on the network construction and configuration.

Major Oil and Gas telecommunications provider engaged us to build out and
install 2 9711-IMA antennas on board a rig with minimal downtime and
outages. Also to provide qualified resources to rig up the customer network as
well as to do all fiber terminations, testing and certifications

Two teams were formed to tackle 2 separate scopes. One team was tasked
with the safe assembly, lift and installation of both antennas. It required
coordination with the shorebase and rig for safe operations.
The second team was tasked with rigging up the customer network as per the
design. It involved the installation of network hardware, cable testing and
termination, fiber testing and termination, configuration of all hardware as well
as working with the other contractors on board to ensure that their various
offices and shacks (ROV, D&M, Wireline etc) were all able to stream data back
to their respective offices.
