Case Study:

Cruise Line Network Upgrade for their Fleet

Summary

Challenge: Cruise line contracted to upgrade all the Cisco hardware on board at all datacenters across the entire fleet while cruising with zero downtime to the customers on board.
Outcome: Teams deployed at various locations to work with Cisco to changeout, test and repurpose hardware. We also performed a maintenance on the VSATs on board.

A major cruise line contracted to provide VSAT services for the fleet. Cruise line
requested an expedited schedule to cutover from their existing to new network
provider in a very short timeframe. The cutover process involved the migration
of voice and data services as well as the upgrade of the hardware on board.

We worked alongside our customer to cutover the fleet in a near impossible
timeframe. This involved deploying multiple teams with VSAT specific skillsets
as well as network engineering skillsets to perform the cutover. The teams
were deployed at various locations worldwide to meet the vessels at different
ports.
The teams were able to cutover the fleet with no downtime to the passengers
on board and with high praises from the fleet owners for our efficiency and
professionalism.
